Within: Rediscover Your Worthiness

  • Kind Yoga Squamish 60001 Squamish Valley Road Squamish, BC, V0N 1H0 Canada (map)

NOTE: This retreat has a NEW date!

Do you desire to be in community, step into more confidence, and connect to your truth?

As women and femme-identified folx, we are conditioned into believing false truths that we aren't enough; that we need to strive for perfection of some kind; and we need to establish our worthiness by competing in a systemic game of social hierarchies. The ways that the feminine have been stripped of power can be overt or subtle. We will unpack everything in-between; covering feelings of 'too much' or 'not enough', judgment, societal and family expectations, body-image, internalized patriarchy and more. Our hope is that by coming together in community, we can tend to the parts of us that need reminding of their goodness and loveability; and gather clarity on the ways to live more contently with our inner world, more often. This space is here to hold your exploration of self and relationship to others; to look at what is holding you back in life; and what you want more of.

WHAT? Join us for a half-day retreat designed to take you on a journey to dismantle and shed insecurities; in order to come into more wholeness, and humbled self-assuredness. The half-day retreat will include:

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS

Alex Charleton

Alex is a registered clinical counsellor who is passionate about understanding the intricacies of the human condition; and leads with curiosity to find new ways to soften and deepen into truth. She is a strong believer that we heal in community, and that our strongest potential for transformative change occurs in safe connected relationships. She is delighted to bring an immersive experience to the squamish valley for folks to unlock new layers of self-love and steadiness in who you are and who they are becoming. As a clinical counsellor, Alex feels it is such a privilege to walk alongside others as they find their way back home to themselves. Alex's work is an eclectic, holistic approach. She weaves neuroscience with an attachment focus, and sees through a systemic postmodern feminist lens; sprinkling in embodiment processes and creativity to harness the healing power of our brain, body and soul. Lastly, Alex is a shit- disturber of the social conditioning status-quo. Her mission is to help wake up the most loving and free-spirited parts inside, for individuals to live fuller and brighter expressions of themselves.

Ellen Reesor

Ellen is a yoga studio owner, and mindfulness facilitator by trade, but her true calling lies in helping students discover what makes them come alive. Ellen helps students unearth a deeper sense of meaning and purpose in their day to day lives, ultimately driving them to to take their practice off of their mats and into the world.

Her first yoga class was at age 14, when she realized that up until that first savasana, she had never felt truly relaxed. Ellen fell in love with the way it made her feel and was instantly hooked. In exchange for free yoga, she volunteered as a teen at a local studio which eventually lead her to follow her curiosity and complete:

  • 200hr Hatha Teacher Training

  • 500hr Modo Teacher Training

  • 100hr Modo Flow Training

  • 10 month Teacher Training and Mentorship program through Spirit Loft Movement Center focusing on an Interdisciplinary Approach to Movement & Mindfulness Education

  • 10 Day silent Vipassana Meditation Course

  • 9 month meditation/precepts course studying with Poep Sa Frank Jude

  • ACSM Personal training course through Cuesta College

  • Four year ambassadorship program with Lululemon

  • Currently completing the Yoga Detour Method Training, combining yoga with modern movement and mobility

  • Currently studying mindfulness/meditation under Poep Sa Frank Jude Boccio

In 2020, Ellen distilled the knowledge she accumulated over the years into a 250hr nature based YTT, in the hopes that what was generously shared with her would enrich and bring joy to the lives of others.

Ellen spends her days rock climbing, mountaineering, playing guitar/singing and reading/learning. She considers herself an eternal student and is constantly attending workshops and trainings to learn and grow. She’d love to get to know you at a class soon!
